Manuel has created diverse concepts for his solo concerts such as “Silence must beat” (2015), “Interieur” (2018) and “An Elemental Thing” (2020). Moreover, he has performed as a soloist in Austria, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, England and Switzerland.

In his performances, he presents pieces from different contemporary art genres. His versatility ranges from playing classic contemporary music repertoire for percussion, like Iannis Xenakis, Helmut Lachenmann and Franco Donatoni, to regularly working with young composers, who are recognized in the international contemporary music scene for the creation of new pieces and innovative interpretations.

An Elemental Thing

An Elemental Thing proposes a program with a clean, lucid and intelligible setting on stage, containing pieces that follow a similar line: the brilliant compositional and musical exploration of a single body.

Music by Liza Lim, Wojtek Blecharz, Panayiotis Kokoras and Diego Jiménez Tamame.

Interieur

The project Interieur travels across four different approaches to the world of Percussion, where the connection between sound and instrumentation is thought in different ways.

Thus, Interieur makes reference to the inner sound possibilities that can be evoked in any object, enabling a marimba to be converted into mere blocks of wood and trash/junkyard objects to suggest techno hypnotic patterns.
